Antipodes

Antipodes was founded in 2020 by vocalist Matt Cellini and keyboardist Manuel Wunderlich as a studio project. What began as an exploration quickly evolved into a distinct musical identity: emotionally intense, uncompromising in execution, and technically refined, making the transition to the live stage inevitable.

With the addition of seasoned musicians Stu Olivo (bass), Attila Nemeth (drums), and guitarist Lars Gygax, the band established a powerful live lineup. In 2023, Antipodes released their debut singles along with accompanying music videos, steadily building a growing fanbase across social media platforms and YouTube.

Since 2024, Antipodes has been performing live across Switzerland. In 2025, guitarist Valentin Müller joined the band, further expanding their sonic range. That same year, they played their first open-air show in a monastery ruin and later performed at Schützi Olten as support for China and Crystal Ball.

In 2026, Antipodes reached the semi-finals of the Wacken Metal Battle, performing at Mokka Thun.

Antipodes deliver a cohesive and captivating live show that resonates with a wide audience. Their sound exists within a unique musical sphere—somewhere between melodic death metal, progressive metal, and alternative metal, blending influences reminiscent of In Flames, Katatonia, and Alter Bridge. Driven by lush keyboards, electronic textures, and cinematic elements, their music offers both emotional depth and powerful intensity.
